Providing a view of Key Performance Indicators

Andrew King, a Business Intelligence Consultant at Stellar has recently worked on Power BI reporting for Toyota New and Used Vehicles, specifically providing a view of Dealer Key Performance Indicators. The reports will allow Dealers and business support users access to sales and customer service metrics. It will display KPI progress monthly and quarterly.

The reports rely on the integration of two independent business transaction systems and the frequent contribution of data by users via Excel spreadsheets. This aspect of the project provided challenges to integrate and match data fields between the multiple data sources, with Data Quality a key factor in the success of this matching process.

The reports are unique in that they are used at a functional level, in the Dealer setting, and also required by the Executive team to review the company-wide performance. This demanded a high-level accuracy and report quality to gain approval from multiple end-users.

The reports are key to the Dealer’s interest and will assist Toyota in driving improvements to Sales and Customer retention. In addition to this, the development process highlighted the opportunities for Data Quality improvements across the business which will provide benefits for existing and future reporting accuracy.
